Welcome to Polaris ESU

The purpose of this site is to provide a source of information for and about Polaris Explorer Scouts. However we hope that it will act as a window on what we aim to do and activities that we have run.

Explorer Scouts is run for both boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 18 year old.
However if you are a member of a Scout Troop you may start coming to explorers at the age of 13 and a half.

Polaris Explorer Scout Unit (polaris) meets on Tuesday at the scout hut of 1st Uxbridge Scout group on the edge of Rockinginham Recreation Ground. However we try to get out as much as possible so please email in advance if you plan on coming down.

Occasionally we use different scout huts but the location of an evening will be included in the program and any explorer scout is welcome to attend any of the meetings. However If you are not registered and paying subscriptions to Polaris ESU you will need to provide proof that you are an active member of an existing Explorer Scout Unit. 1st January 2007: Scouting is 100 years old.

This year marks the centenary of scouting. Through out the year we have many activities planned both to raise awareness of this and to celebrate it.

Funraising for new minibus started

We have started the task of raising £41,000 to purchase a new, wheelchair accessable minibus.
